A large Coca-Cola is 540 calories, 150 more than a medium and 340 more than a kids cup.

Which size comes with a meal

Sugar by size

Sugar grows with the cup. A Coca-Cola lists 53 g in a kids size, 70 g in a small, 107 g in a medium and 147 g in a large. Diet sodas, unsweet tea and Light Lemonade stay near zero in every size.

Shakes have no kids size. A small vanilla shake is 400 calories, medium 500 and large 800; the full list is on Whataburger shakes.

Tea and lemonade sizes

Unsweet tea is 5 calories in a small and 15 in a large. Minute Maid Light Lemonade is 10 in a small and 25 in a large. For a group, the family-size gallon of sweet tea is $4.99, about $0.31 per 8 oz glass by our math, far cheaper per glass than medium cups.

Size up or size down?

For most people the drink size is the easiest calorie lever on the whole order, easier than changing the burger. Sizing the drink down saves calories, not much money. A medium Coca-Cola is 390 calories against 250 for a small. A diet soda or unsweet tea in any size is close to zero.
