Whataburger salad prices

Whataburger has two salads on the current menu, both full meals with chicken. Prices from Store #367 (West & San Angelo, San Antonio, TX), checked Nov 3, 2026.

The Cobb Salad is $10.49 and the Garden Salad with grilled chicken $8.99: the Cobb costs $1.50 more.

What is on each salad

• Cobb Salad (540 cal): Whatachick'n (breaded chicken), a hard-boiled egg and shredded cheese on greens. See the Cobb Salad page.
• Garden Salad with grilled chicken (290 cal): grilled chicken, shredded cheese and six grape tomatoes on greens. See the Garden Salad page.

Dressing is a separate choice and changes the calories; ranch is 60 calories per sandwich-size serving in Whataburger's part list.

Calories and protein

The Garden Salad is the lighter one at 290 calories, with 33 g of protein, 12 g of fat and 12 g of carbs. That is the best protein-to-calorie ratio of any meal on the menu.

The Cobb Salad is 540 calories because of the breaded chicken, egg and cheese, still lighter than a #1 Whataburger (590 cal). Full nutrition is on Whataburger nutrition and calories.

Salad or burger?

On price, a salad costs more than a #1 Whataburger ($5.99). On calories and protein, the Garden Salad wins clearly: 290 calories and 33 g of protein against 590 calories and 29 g for the #1.

Allergens and diets

The Garden Salad with grilled chicken is listed free of wheat and gluten, which makes it the main gluten-free meal on the menu. Both salads come with cheese, so they contain milk; ask for no cheese for a dairy-free salad. See gluten-free at Whataburger and the allergen menu.

Calories and protein per dollar

Our math: the Garden Salad gives 3.7 g of protein per dollar and the Cobb Salad 51 calories per dollar. For comparison, a #1 Whataburger gives 4.8 g of protein per dollar.

So the Garden Salad costs more than a burger but gives more protein for the money, while the Cobb Salad is the more filling of the two salads.

Older Whataburger salads

Whataburger's older nutrition list also carries Apple & Cranberry salads, with crispy or grilled chicken. They were not on the menu at the store we checked, so we treat them as past items. Retired items are listed on discontinued Whataburger items.

If a salad you remember is missing, it was most likely one of these, and the current Cobb and Garden salads are the closest replacements: the Cobb for crispy chicken, the Garden for grilled.

How to order a lighter salad

• Pick the Garden Salad: grilled chicken instead of breaded.
• Go easy on dressing: creamy dressings add the most calories.
• Drink unsweet tea: it keeps the whole meal close to the salad's own calories.

Delivery-app salad prices

On the July 2026 delivery price list, the salads were listed below our store prices: the Cobb at $9.54 and the Garden Salad at $7.68. The two lists were checked months apart at different places, and the app version may not be the same build, so treat that as a mismatch rather than a deal.
